PEDRO GRANCHINHO

Pedro Granchinho is Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT) since 2000, teaching Robotics, Electromechanical Drives, and Project Management. Holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon), a postgraduate diploma in Industrial Engineering (2000), and a master’s in Energy Systems (2005). In 2011, was awarded the Specialist title in Electricity and Energy by IPT. Previously worked as Production and Maintenance Director in a chemical industry (1998–2000) and has since led several private companies in building systems, industrial design, renewable energy, and organic food. CEO of FlyRobotics and Biologic. From 2015 to 2019, directed IPT’s applied research lab LINE.IPT at TagusValley, while providing ongoing technical consultancy in industrial automation, energy, and construction.

HUGO MAGALHÃES

Hugo Magalhães is Director of Operations at FlyRobotics and PhD Candidate in Electrical Engineering at the University of Coimbra and the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR‑UC), focusing on Field Robotics and Odour Source Localisation (OSL) in aquatic environments using ASVs and AUVs. Holds a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Industrial Control) from IPT and was awarded a PhD research grant by Portugal’s FCT. His work applies cognitive and bioinspired search algorithms, Bayesian inference, and meta-heuristics to autonomous sensing. Has led and contributed to R&D projects including Aquatropolis, Libélula, and DragonFly. Previously coordinated LINE.IPT at TagusValley and consulted for companies in IoT, automation, and mechanical systems. Teaches Robotics, Embedded Systems, and Industrial Control at IPT.

RUI BAPTISTA

Rui Baptista is Team Leader at FlyRobotics and PhD Candidate in Electrical Engineering at the University of Coimbra and ISR‑UC, specializing in odour source localisation (OSL) using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with visual and olfactory inputs. His research integrates embedded vision, cognitive search algorithms, and adaptive control strategies, with a focus on field robotics in complex environments. During this period, he conducted advanced research using UAVs, ASVs, and AUVs, contributing to scientific publications and collaborative R&D initiatives. Holds a Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Automation) and is a recipient of an FCT doctoral grant. He previously led electronics engineering at LEDViser and conducted research in human-machine interaction for industrial robotics. At IPT, he teaches CAD, Microcontroller Architecture, and Informatics.

ADAM B. IBRAHIM

Adam B. Ibrahim holds a Master’s in Forensic Sciences with specialization in Cyber Forensics from the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) (India), and is currently pursuing a second Master’s in Organizational Intelligence and Data Analytics at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (Portugal). He worked at the Investigation department of the Ghana National fire service HQ and also at the Cyber-Defense centre of NFSU India. Since May 2025, he has been a Full-Stack Software Development Intern at Flyrobotics IPT Portugal, contributing to frontend and backend development, AI integration, and secure web applications. At FlyRobotics, he focuses on full-stack software development, secure systems, and AI integration. His technical expertise includes neural networks, XGBoost, clustering, and Bayesian inference, applied to anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and intelligent automation. 

JOANA MENDES GODINHO

Joana Mendes Godinho Holds a degree in Forestry Engineering from Instituto Superior de Agronomia (University of Lisbon) and has over two decades of experience managing R&D, industrial feasibility, and sustainable development projects across Europe and Africa. Has coordinated EU-funded programs in rural energy and sustainable land use, and led ESG strategy design for impact investment in bioenergy. Oversaw PEFC forest certification systems in Portugal and is currently leading IFS Food certification at Granchinho Group. At FlyRobotics, she manages multi-partner projects and ensures compliance with sustainability, regulatory, and impact standards

NUNO NUNES

Nuno Nunes is Senior advisor at FlyRobotics, with experience leading global humanitarian data systems and innovation programs. Former global head of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), global co-lead of the Camp Management and Camp Coordination Cluster, and head of the shelter unit at IOM, the UN Migration Agency, where he developed field systems for large-scale data collection, spatial analysis, and predictive modeling. His work bridges engineering, human mobility research, and digital systems for humanitarian response. His DTM team managed operations employing 6000 people. Holds advanced degrees in agricultural engineering and development studies, and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Lisbon, focusing on ethics, agency, and the use of AI and digital traces in modeling human mobility.

RICARDO CARDOSO

Ricardo Cardoso is Commercial Director at Flyrobotics, with a background in Social Sciences and a specialization in Political and Administrative Science. Brings over a decade of experience in sales strategy, customer relations, and commercial operations across sectors including sustainable food and financial services. Since 2018, has overseen sales planning and promotion for both Flyrobotics and Biologic, supporting product launch strategies and market positioning. Previously led logistics and team operations at Riverford Organics (UK), and directed agency operations in the financial sector with a focus on team leadership and client engagement.

RAQUEL SILVA

Raquel Silvais the Financial Director at Flyrobotics and Biologic, where she oversees financial management, strategic planning, and resource optimization, ensuring the sustainability and growth of both companies. She is currently completing a bachelor’s degree in Management at the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, deepening her expertise in financial analysis, budget control, and strategic leadership. In parallel, since 2015, she has been part of the Festival Bons Sons team, initially in support roles and, since 2022, as a member of the organizing team within the programming department. She currently serves as a human resources manager, coordinating teams, task planning, and recruitment processes.
